Monthly bookkeeping you can actually rely on
Timely, accurate financial records and statements every month, prepared by a dedicated bookkeeper who knows your business, and delivered by the 15th.
What good bookkeeping gives you
Bookkeeping isn’t data entry for its own sake. It’s the foundation for every financial decision you make: whether you can afford to hire, which customers are actually profitable, how much to set aside for taxes, and whether a lender will say yes. When the books are current, those questions take minutes to answer. When they aren’t, they take weeks, or they get answered with a guess.
Our monthly bookkeeping service is built around a simple promise: your books are closed, reconciled and reviewed every month, and you receive financial statements by the 15th. Here is what that includes.
What’s included every month
- Bank reconciliation
- Credit card reconciliation
- Accounts receivable
- Accounts payable
- Input of checks
- Input of deposits
- Input of credit card charges
- Fixed asset listing
- Financial statements by the 15th
- Statement comparisons
Bank and credit card reconciliation
Every account is matched line by line to the bank or card statement, so the balance in your books is the balance in reality. Reconciliation is where duplicate charges, missed deposits, bank errors and fraud get caught, and it’s the single most important control in small-business bookkeeping.
Accounts payable and accounts receivable
We track what you owe and what you’re owed. That means bills entered and scheduled, customer invoices monitored, and an aging report that shows which customers are slow to pay before it becomes a cash-flow problem.
Financial statements, with comparisons
Each month you receive a profit and loss statement, balance sheet and cash-flow view. We compare them to prior months so you can see what actually changed: rising costs, slipping margins, a customer who stopped ordering. The numbers arrive with context, not just totals.
Fixed asset listing
Equipment, vehicles and improvements are recorded and tracked, so your CPA has what they need for depreciation and you have an accurate picture of what the business owns.
Catch-up and cleanup for past months
Behind on your books? You’re in good company. Many of our clients come to us with several months, or years, of unreconciled transactions, a messy chart of accounts or a DIY setup that no longer fits the business. We review what exists, give you a realistic timeline and a written estimate, then bring prior periods current so you have accurate records for taxes, lenders or a new accountant.
How we work with your CPA
Matkht is not a public accounting firm and doesn’t prepare or sign tax returns. That’s a strength: our only job is to make your books right. Your CPA receives organized, reconciled records, which typically means faster turnaround and lower tax-prep fees. We’re glad to coordinate directly with your existing CPA, and if you don’t have one we can point you in the right direction.
Software we work in
We work with leading platforms including QuickBooks Online, Xero and Wave. If you already have a preferred platform, we work within your existing setup. You keep full ownership of your financial data at all times and can request an export of your records in standard formats whenever you like.
Simple, flat monthly pricing
Pricing is tailored to the size and complexity of your business, and we quote flat monthly rates so you always know what to expect. There are no surprise hourly bills and no setup fees for standard onboarding. If you need significant catch-up work, we give you a separate one-time quote for the backlog before we begin.
Our process
- Free call. We learn about your business, your software and your goals.
- Diagnose & estimate. We review your books and give you an honest, written estimate and timeline.
- Onboard. Secure access to your accounts (or your statements, if you prefer) and a short setup of categories and workflows.
- Monthly close. Your bookkeeper reconciles, reviews and delivers statements by the 15th.
- Ongoing questions. A short list of open items each month, not a flood of emails. Need updates more often than monthly? We can run weekly or bi-weekly cycles.
Who it’s for
Small to mid-sized businesses, startups and VC-backed companies that have outgrown DIY bookkeeping or don’t want the overhead of a full in-house accounting team: restaurants, contractors, medical practices, real estate professionals, and many other service and retail businesses across South Florida. If you’re spending your evenings in QuickBooks, chasing receipts, or dreading tax season, we can take that off your plate.
Need payroll too? See our payroll services: running both with one team keeps every paycheck and payroll tax deposit reconciled to your books automatically.
